Event Description

Help us find a cure for ALS!

Join us on Monday, May 19 for the 14th Annual Paul Dunn Memorial Classic and help find a cure for ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The Paul Dunn Classic honors the legacy of a man whose life was cut far too short because of a disease called ALS. At just 28 years old Paul learned he had an illness with no known cause or cure and only 2 to 5 years to live. He knew the only way to change that is with steadfast research and awareness. Paul asked his closest friends to help him and so, starting a heartfelt and annual tradition, their first golf tournament to help fund ALS research began in 2001.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Although the cause of ALS is not completely understood, the recent years have brought a wealth of new scientific understanding regarding the physiology of this disease.
The J. Thomas May Center for ALS Research at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences provides a multitude of pathways to find better treatments and hopefully someday a cure for ALS.

Your generous support to the Paul Dunn Classic will help fund these cutting edge technologies and therapies in managing ALS. Paul Dunn loved the game of golf, please join us for a day of remembrance, awareness, and fun.

This tournament will be held at the Maumelle Country Club and is a four-person scramble with a morning and afternoon shotgun start. Prize categories include closest to the pin, longest drive, hole-in-one and other challenge activities. Awards will be presented immediately after the tournament.
